We have been growing so fast at the Conure Coop that we had to take a moment to thank all of our incredible families and friends for helping us become better than we thought we could ever be. I feel sure that anyone who knows us knows that we love all our birds and truly enjoy sharing them with all of you.
The Conure Coop is a small home based Conure hobbyist located in Phoenix, Arizona that began out of loving one bird just a bit too much, his name was Rio and he is on our logo. We felt Rio was lonely even though we spent all of our time with him, training him and playing with him, so like any good parents we went out and bought Rio a Pineapple Green Cheek and they fell in love at first sight. Sadly we lost Rio when he was only two and our hearts were broken badly. They were our children and we just lost one. After that we bought a pair, then another and another until we are where we are at now which is a lot of beautiful pairs and all different. We keep all of our birds indoors with lots of toys and play area. We also have special sun lighting so that they get full spectrum light as if they were outside. They have it very cushy. Playtime at our house is loads of fun but a lot of work, well not really, we enjoy it too much, especially the young kids. Rio would have loved all his brothers and sisters, but he would have made sure we knew he was number one! He always will be.
We adopted an African Grey named Willy on December 29th who was not being cared for well. At first he was a little standoffish but he soon bonded with Brian and has become one of the most wonderful additions to our family we've ever had. He talks up a storm and loves to play under the sheets before bedtime, his vocabulary is amazing and he actually asks you questions like if you are down on the floor "He says "What are you doing down there?" or if you have a glass with ice in it he says "Is that cold?" then he takes a sip of the water and says, "Oh, thats is cold."
We just adopted our second Grey "Winter" a four year old who is a wonderful addition to the family.
